Entering his senior season, Keeler is a mainstay on the Roadrunners’ offensive line. The 6-foot-6, 290-pounder has lost 25 pounds since he put a great emphasis on lowering food intake and making better choices. Keeler said he avoids “breads” and concentrates on eating a lot healthier.
Thus far, Keeler holds two college offers — Eastern Illinois and Howard. He joins returning right tackle Elijah Moscinski as leaders on the offensive line for the 2017 Class 6A runner-ups.
The Roadrunners joined teams from around the state in holding their first official fall practice on Aug. 6.
“We had a great group of seniors last season and the [returnees] are focused on finishing,” Keeler said. “The big thing this year is finishing since we were so close. It left us not feeling so good. I feel a lot better this year going into my senior year. I worked on becoming stronger this year and I feel more dominant, even against athletic kids.”
