Valley View student registration starts July 30

Registration for Valley View School District 365U students enrolled for the 2018-19 school year will take place from July 30 to Aug. 3, with dates varying by school.

All middle and high school students must come to Back-to-School Registration Days, even if they are registered by mail, so that they can obtain their student ID, schedule and locker assignment. Elementary school students who already have registered by mail are not required to attend.

If a student is new to the district or has a home address change, parents need to visit the Enrollment Office at 801 W. Normantown Road in Romeoville before registering at the school in order to provide proper enrollment information. The Enrollment Office is open from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Parents can visit the VVSD enrollment information page for complete enrollment requirements.

All students are required to provide proof they are residents of the district to register for classes. A parent or guardian must provide their own photo ID and either a signed lease from the current school year with the name of the parent or guardian; a landlord’s signature and a contact phone number; a mortgage statement from the current/most recent month or a 2017 Will County property tax bill; or a utility bill from the past 30 days in the name of the parent or guardian or mail of a business nature no more than 30 days old sent to the parent or guardian at the home address.

For elementary schools, Robert C. Hill will hold registration July 30. B.J. Ward registration will be July 31. Jamie L. McGee, John R. Tibbott, Jonas E. Salk, Pioneer, and Wood View will hold theirs Aug. 1. The Valley View Early Childhood Center, Beverly E. Skoff, Independence, Irene H. King, Kenneth L. Hermansen and Oak View will hold registration Aug. 2.

For middle schools, Hubert H. Humphrey’s registration is July 31, and A. Vito Martinez’s registration is Aug. 1. John J. Lukancic’s is Aug. 2 and Brooks and Jane Adams will hold registration Aug. 3.

Bolingbrook High School will hold registration for students from July 30 through Aug. 2, with band students registering on July 30 only. Romeoville High School will hold registration for seniors July 30, juniors July 31, sophomores Aug. 1 and freshmen on Aug. 2. Registration for the district’s STEP Campus is Aug. 1.

The first full day of classes for all students is Aug. 15.

District 365U serves about 18,000 students in 22 educational facilities and is one of Will County’s largest employers with more than 2,000 full-time employees. Its schools pull from Bolingbrook and Romeoville and from parts of Plainfield, Lockport and Downers Grove.

For information, visit vvsd.org and check out the district’s Back-to-School booklet. The booklet has been mailed to the homes of current VVSD students.
