This year's group, with a young roster and a new head coach, nearly equaled that feat before its season came to an end with a 7-1 loss to North Shore Country Day on Tuesday. The defeat at the Concordia University Class 1A Supersectional left ICCP with a final record of 14-10.
"I'm so impressed with our team that we made it this far," said senior Grace Fuller, who played for three head coaches in her four years. "Losing so many players from last year, it is amazing we made it here. This is a tough loss but they [North Shore Country Day] made some great shots."
Indeed, the Lady Knights couldn't find an answer for Raiders' forward Edith Edwards-Mizel, who netted a hat trick in the first six minutes of the match and finished with four goals and three assists.
