“Once I started being recruited by the Ivy League schools, I knew that’s where I wanted to go,” Stritzel said. “I’ve talked to the coach and she said they struggle to score, so that’s where I can help out.”
But first she has some unfinished business to take care of at Nazareth. If she continues at her current pace, Stritzel could surpass 2,000 points, a remarkable achievement considering she would have played less than three full seasons.
But the only goal she has is bringing Nazareth its first state championship.
“I definitely want to take a step up and become more of a leader,” Stritzel said. “We want to show people that even though we lost two seniors [Division I recruits Alyssa Geary and Marissa Metz, to graduation], we’re still a great team.”
