DOWNERS GROVE – Children enjoyed a day of exploring police, fire and public safety vehicles April 7 during the annual Passport to Safety and Wheely Big Trucks event at the Lincoln Center, 935 Maple Ave., Downers Grove.
Sponsored by the Downers Grove Park District, Fire Department and Police Department, Passport to Safety offered valuable safety tips for children of all ages.
Children received a passport at the beginning of the event and had it stamped at various stations after meeting local safety personnel who offered advice and tips about staying safe in and around the home.
