Police: Wanted Lisle man stumbles in road, falls into creek

K-9 units used to track 22-year-old

LISLE – A 22-year-old Lisle man was arrested late Friday night after a police chase through Sycamore, according to a news release from the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded just after 11:10 p.m. Friday to the area of Peace Road south of Freed Road for an allegedly intoxicated individual stumbling in the road, the release stated.

Louis A. Poyer, of the 4900 block of Keller Road, ran east into a field when deputies arrived and fell into a creek, according to the release. Poyer then continued running east.

The Sheriff’s Office used K-9 units to track Poyer and eventually found him in the tree line near the Kishwaukee River. He was taken to Northwestern Medicine Kishwaukee Hospital in DeKalb for observation and later was taken to the Sheriff’s Office, the release stated.

A warrant previously was issued for Poyer’s alleged involvement in a Downers Grove theft, according to the release.

Poyer was held pending bond as of early Saturday morning.
