Florida school shooting survivors call for town halls on gun violence prevention across country
GLEN ELLYN – Glenbard West High School sophomore Elisabeth Shanks believes kids should feel safe when they are at school.
"I shouldn't be scared to walk into my classroom every day, hearing that the main topic kids are talking about is what they're going to do if the school has a shooting," Shanks said during a packed town hall meeting April 7 at First United Methodist Church of Glen Ellyn.
The event attracted hundreds of people. The church has a capacity of 590 people.
