"We knew they would be like that," Montini coach Jason Nichols said. "They're physical, they get underneath you. At times I thought we did a really good job of it, of handling their pressure."
Mitchell, tasked with facing the brunt of Bolingbrook's pressure playing on a bad ankle, likewise knew what her team was in for.
The Broncos gave it back, too.
In the third quarter, Patty ripped a ball away from a Bolingbrook girl under the Montini rim, then clapped her hands in their direction. Later, Jarosinski sent her 6-foot-5 frame to the floor for a loose ball.
"We toughened up," Mitchell said. "We usually aren't the tough team, but we showed it tonight. "We played through it mentally and physically. And we're ready for more to come."
