Attempted theft by deception

An incident involving attempted theft by deception reportedly occurred at 1:04 p.m. Feb. 22 at Fifth Third Bank, 105 S. York St.

Battery

William Friel, 30, of the 800 block of South Poplar Avenue, Elmhurst, was charged at 2:51 a.m. Feb. 18 with battery in the 200 block of North Glenview Avenue. Grant Hehr, 27, of the 200 block of North Glenview Avenue, Elmhurst, was charged at 5:57 a.m. Feb. 18 with aggravated battery at the same location.

Burglary

• A residential burglary reportedly occurred between noon Feb. 12 and 10 a.m. Feb. 17 in the 800 block of Indiana Street.

• A garage door opener was reported stolen at 4:46 a.m. Feb. 19 from an unlocked black Lexus parked in a driveway in the 500 block of West Gladys Avenue. The garage door reportedly was opened, and an unlocked black Land Rover was entered.

• A black Infiniti reportedly was entered between 3 and 4 a.m. Feb. 19 in the 500 block of West Gladys Avenue.

• A garage door opener was reported stolen at 5:05 a.m. Feb. 19 from an unlocked white Ford Explorer parked in a driveway in the 500 block of West Gladys Avenue.

• An unlocked gray Infiniti reportedly was entered between 3 and 4 a.m. Feb. 19 in the 500 block of West Gladys Avenue.

• A garage door opener reportedly was stolen between 3:45 and 5:13 a.m. Feb. 19 in the 500 block of West Gladys Avenue. The garage door opener reportedly was used to gain access to another vehicle parked in the garage.

• An unlocked red Volkswagen Passat was reported at 5:16 a.m. Feb. 19 as having been entered while it was parked in a driveway in the 500 block of West Gladys Avenue.

• Gift cards reportedly were stolen between 12:01 and 5:47 a.m. Feb. 19 from an unlocked vehicle in the 500 block of Comstock Avenue.

• An unlocked white BMW reportedly was entered between 3 and 4 a.m. Feb. 19 in a driveway in the 600 block of West Crockett Avenue.

• A garage door opener was reported stolen at 5:49 a.m. Feb. 19 from an unlocked black Jeep parked in a driveway in the 600 block of West Crockett Avenue.

• Keys for a Chevy reportedly were stolen at 5:30 a.m. Feb. 19 from an unlocked Ford parked in a driveway in the 500 block of West Crockett Avenue.

• An unlocked black Toyota Avalon reportedly was entered between 12:30 p.m. Feb. 17 and 5:30 a.m. Feb. 19 in the 200 block of South Lawndale Avenue.

• A backpack reportedly was stolen between 7 p.m. Feb. 18 and 7:45 a.m. Feb. 19 from an unlocked Mercedes-Benz in the 300 block of North Highland Avenue.

• An unlocked GMC Yukon reportedly was entered between 3 p.m. Feb. 18 and 7:45 a.m. Feb. 19 in the 300 block of North Highland Avenue.

• Two garage door openers reportedly were stolen between 10:30 p.m. Feb. 18 and 8:15 a.m. Feb. 19 from an unlocked Honda Pilot parked in a driveway in the 100 block of North Highland Avenue. The garage door opener reportedly was used to enter the garage, and the victim's unlocked Acura RDX reportedly was entered.

• A purse reportedly was stolen from an unlocked dark blue Dodge Grand Caravan between 5 p.m. Feb. 18 and 9:45 a.m. Feb. 19 in the 600 block of Comstock Avenue.

Deceptive practice

Incidents of deceptive practice involving bad checks reportedly occurred between Dec. 15, 2017, and Jan. 3 at Elmhurst Currency Exchange, 683 W. North Ave.

Disorderly conduct

Sean J. Marchese, 25, of the 400 block of East Church Street, Elmhurst, was charged at 2:04 a.m. Feb. 17 with disorderly conduct – public intoxication at Cottage Hill Station Kitchen and Tap, 122 S. York St.

Drug paraphernalia possession

• Darlynne Castillow, 26, of the 1900 block of Arthur Lane, Berkeley, was cited at 8:47 a.m. Feb. 21 with possession of drug paraphernalia, no valid driver's license and tinted windows at St. Charles Road and Kenilworth Avenue.

• Kimbrielle Chiles, 25, of the 12500 block of South Michigan Avenue, Chicago, was cited at 3:58 p.m. Feb. 21 with possession of drug paraphernalia, disobeying traffic control sign and operating an uninsured motor vehicle at Robert T. Palmer Drive and Marion Street.

DUI

• Eric Saucedo, 27, of the 5400 block of West Cornelia Avenue, Chicago, was charged at 2:30 a.m. Feb. 17 with driving under the influence of alcohol at York Street and Canadian National Railroad.

• Miguel Oheda-Cabada, 25, of the 1000 block of North Minerva Park, Long Beach, Calif., was charged at 2:06 a.m. Feb. 18 with DUI of alcohol and speeding at Route 83 and St. Charles Road.

• Chukwunonso Ugwu, 37, of the 3400 block of Montrose Avenue, Rockford, was charged at 1:14 a.m. Feb. 22 with DUI of alcohol and driving the wrong way at North Avenue and Interstate 290.

• Brian C. Cooks, 26, of the 1400 block of Getzelman Drive, Elgin, was charged at 8:15 p.m. Feb. 22 with DUI of drugs, no valid driver's license, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and disobeying a traffic control signal in the 200 block of East North Avenue.

Fraud

An incident of fraud reportedly occurred at 11:40 a.m. Feb. 12 in the 600 block of Berkley Avenue. The victim reportedly received an email from an Apple associate telling her she needed to call regarding her Apple account, and the suspect told her people were attempting to hack the victim's phone, the phone was locked and the victim needed to purchase iTunes gift cards in order for them to secure her phone from hackers. The victim did that and read the number on the card over the phone.

Identity theft

• An incident involving identity theft reportedly occurred between 6 a.m. Feb. 12 and 10 p.m. Feb. 15 in the 500 block of North Walnut Street.

• An incident involving identity theft reportedly occurred between 1 a.m. April 29, 2016, and noon Dec. 15, 2017, in the 600 block of West Crockett Avenue.

• An incident involving identity theft reportedly occurred between noon Feb. 20 and 5:34 p.m. Feb. 21 in the 300 block of East Madison Street.

• An incident involving identity theft was reported at 9:10 a.m. Feb. 22 in the 600 block of West Armitage Avenue.

• An incident involving identity theft reportedly occurred between 12:01 a.m. Feb. 2 and 2:52 p.m. Feb. 22 in the 400 block of Walnut Street.

Marijuana possession

• Alexis Martinez-Tapia, 19, of the 3000 block of Houston Street, Franklin Park, was charged at 11:57 p.m. Feb. 17 with unlawful possession of marijuana, no valid driver's license and improper turn at York and Lake streets. Armando Vanegas, 20, of the 3000 block of Ruth Street, Franklin Park, was charged at the same time and date with unlawful possession of marijuana at the same location. A juvenile was charged at the same time and date with unlawful possession of marijuana and curfew at the same location. A second juvenile was charged at the same time and date with curfew at the same location.

• Aria Naja Delo Rias, 22, of the 2200 block of Tyson Drive, Broadview, was cited at 7:17 p.m. Feb. 19 with unlawful possession of marijuana at St. Charles Road and Fair Avenue.

Mischevious conduct

An incident of mischevious conduct was reported at 8:08 p.m. Feb. 17 at a parking deck at 128 N. Addison Ave. Twelve juveniles reportedly were throwing things off the top level of the parking deck, and a juvenile reportedly was in possession of an e-cigarette.

Property damage

A juvenile was charged at 10:36 p.m. Feb. 17 with destruction of property at Berens Park, 493 N. Oaklawn Ave.

Telephone harassment

An incident involving harassment by telephone reportedly occurred between 1 and 5:40 p.m. Feb. 21 in the 200 block of Indiana Street.

Theft

• A diamond engagement ring reportedly was stolen between 2:30 p.m. Feb. 16 and 8:30 a.m. Feb. 17 in the 1000 block of Saylor Avenue.

• A package containing a cellphone reportedly was stolen between 4:32 p.m. Jan. 25 and 12:45 p.m. Feb. 17 in the 800 block of South Fairview Avenue.

• A 2005 white Ford motorhome reportedly was stolen between 7:42 and 8 p.m. Feb. 13 from a storage lot in the 800 block of South Route 83.

• Ten bicycles reportedly were stolen from Elmhurst College's bicycle sharing program between midnight Dec. 1, 2017, and 3:34 p.m. Feb. 20 at Elmhurst College, 190 S. Prospect Ave.

• Diamond earrings were reported at 11:56 a.m. Feb. 22 as having been stolen between 12:01 a.m. Jan. 12 and 12:01 a.m. Jan. 20 in the 600 block of South Bryan Street.

• An incident involving theft by deception reportedly occurred at 4:07 a.m. Feb. 22 in the 400 block of East Vallette Street. The victim reportedly received a text message from the suspect requesting a video chat. The victim became suspicious and ended the video chat with the suspect. The victim later received a text message from the suspect threatening the victim unless he wired money. The victim wired $250 to the suspect in the Philippines. About 10 minutes later, the victim received another text message from the suspect demanding an additional $200. The victim attempted to wire the money, but the transaction was declined.

• Thomas R. Burnett, 40, of the 1300 block of South Keeler Avenue, Chicago, was charged at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 22 with felony retail theft, burglary and possession of drug paraphernalia at CVS Pharmacy, 110 W. North Ave. Daniel B. Gonzalez, 44, of the 3200 block of North Austin Avenue, Chicago, was charged at the same time and date with felony retail theft and burglary at the same location.

Traffic violation

• Dexter Hicks, 24, of the 900 block of East 100th Place, Chicago, was charged at 4:48 p.m. Feb. 17 with felony driving while license suspended and illegal transportation of alcohol at York and Lake streets.

• Germayne Cox, 46, of the 200 block of South 32nd Avenue, Bellwood, was charged at 11:06 p.m. Feb. 17 with driving while license suspended and no rear registration plate light in the 100 block of East Butterfield Road.

• Silverio F. Lopez, 41, of the 100 block of Sonny Lane, Bensenville, was charged at 8:12 p.m. Feb. 18 with no valid driver's license and operating a vehicle with a video device at Lake Street and Grand Avenue.

• Cristian Quintana, 21, of the 500 block of White Oak Drive, Bolingbrook, was charged at 12:36 a.m. Feb. 19 with no valid driver's license and tinted windows at North Avenue and Route 83.

• Nicole Hawes, 36, of the 900 block of North Frontage Road, Darien, was charged at 9:58 p.m. Feb. 19 with driving while license suspended, no insurance and parking in the roadway at York Street and St. Charles Road.

• J. Ascencion Sanchez, 55, of the 10000 block of South Avenue C, Chicago, was charged at 6:34 p.m. Feb. 20 with no valid driver's license and operating an uninsured vehicle at Route 83 and St. Charles Road.

• Amore Parker, 30, of the 1000 block of South First Street, Maywood, was charged at 9:32 p.m. Feb. 20 with driving while license suspended, no insurance and illegally tinted windows at St. Charles Road and Fair Avenue.

• Stephen Davis, 39, of the 16500 block of West 144th Place, Lockport, was charged at 8:18 a.m. Feb. 21 with driving while license suspended and speeding at York Street and Belden Avenue.

• Suzanne Miller, 31, of the 100 block of Boardwalk Street, Elk Grove Village, was charged at 5:07 p.m. Feb. 21 with driving while license suspended and no valid registration at Grand Avenue and Lake Street.

• Jonathan Trimuel, 19, of the 2700 block of West Monroe Street, Chicago, was charged at 5:08 p.m. Feb. 21 with no valid driver's license and disobeying a traffic control device at Arlington and Park avenues.

• Rodrigo Carrillo Lopez, 25, of the 3400 block of North Laramie Avenue, Chicago, was charged at 4:45 p.m. Feb. 22 with driving while license suspended, unlawful use of an electronic communication device and operation of motor vehicle while registration is suspended for mandatory insurance violation at Butterfield Road and Colfax Avenue.

Trespassing

Gilbert Alvarez, 32, of the 500 block of West North Avenue, Elmhurst, was charged at 11:12 p.m. Feb. 18 with trespassing at Dunkin Donuts, 506 W. North Ave.

Warrant arrest

• Jacob. E. Markos, 25, of the 700 block of Berkley Avenue, Elmhurst, was arrested at 11:16 a.m. Feb. 16 on a warrant from the Lombard Police Department in the 700 block of Berkley Avenue.

• Kerry Aileen Hrametz, 41, of the 900 block of South Mitchell Avenue, Elmhurst, was arrested at 6:54 p.m. Feb. 22 on a warrant out of DuPage County at the Elmhurst Police Department, 125 E. First St.
