Better snow removal for Downers Grove cul-de-sacs
I hope that Downers Grove discounts the taxes for snow removal due from homeowners on cul-de-sacs. Their cul-de-sacs are very poorly serviced. It is six hours after the snow stopped falling on Sunday, and the cul-de-sacs are still in terrible condition, apparently an afterthought to be ignored. On the other hand, kudos to Westmont’s snowplow team for doing such a wonderful job all weekend. Westmont’s neighborhood streets were well-cleared, and the plows were timely too. Thanks, Westmont!
No shoveling snow onto streets
Witnessed an incident [Feb. 10]. I watched a white Jeep get a shovel full of snow on Highland Avenue south of Good Samaritan Hospital [in Downers Grove]. The individual stopped and fully emasculated the man who was obviously shoveling his driveway onto the street. I called around and got the same answers. You were in violation first for dumping your snow onto the street. Second was the attack on the Jeep. The verbal assault you received was very much deserved. If a lawsuit comes forward, you fully deserve the judgment. You could have caused an accident or just damages. Stop being selfish and be part of the community!
Work for the people
When do we dispense with...treating the current president as if he is actually doing the job? When do we as a people rise up and decide that enough is enough. This person is absolutely not qualified if he thinks that the Democrats not clapping at the State of the Union is treason. Treason is defined as "the crime of betraying one's country, especially by attempting to kill the sovereign or overthrow the government." The Democrats are displaying an opinion of the speech of the so-called president. It is very difficult for me to continue to accept this person who behaves like a middle-schooler referring to others as "little this" and "little that" and comparing his nuclear button to Kim Jung Un's nuclear button. Mr. Trump, this is not your nuclear button, it is our nuclear button. Mr. Trump, it is not your army, your country, your infrastructure nor your economy. All of it belongs to the 320 million of us who you work for.
