DOWNERS GROVE – Heavy snowfall didn't stop a large turnout Feb. 10 at Downers Grove's annual Ice Fest.
More than 40 ice sculptures could be found in front of businesses throughout the downtown area, as ice sculptors demonstrated their ice-carving skills.
The day kicked off with a pancake breakfast at First Congregational United Church of Christ. Activities also were held throughout the day at the Downers Grove Public Library, which hosted a Winter Wonderland Celebration featuring crafts, games and movies.
Characters from the movie "Frozen" were at the fest and posed for pictures with children.
The festivities wrapped up with an Old Time Barn Dance at the Two Way Street Coffee House.
