The DuPage County Sheriff's Office has a suspect in custody after a woman was found stabbed to death inside a home near Downers Grove, according to media reports.
The woman's teenage son reportedly was taken into custody Jan. 9, and he is being questioned in connection with the incident, reports stated.
The Sheriff’s Office has not confirmed the son is in custody and said only that there is a death investigation underway. There is no word on whether charges have been filed.
Investigators were seen going in and out of a home in the 2100 block of 63rd Street throughout the evening Jan. 9, and there was a heavy police presence in the area.
The Sheriff's Office received a call at about 2 p.m. Jan. 9, Sgt. Bob Harris said from the scene.
Westbound 63rd Street was closed to traffic between Woodward Avenue and Belmont Road for much of the night.
