Daca, for her part, agreed that the Raiders are thinking big.
"This would be the year to do it, to make a deep run," Daca said. "We've all been together for three years. Winning this is a great confidence booster."
Wheaton North, which blew a 14-point halftime lead in the semifinal loss, bounced back to beat Downers Grove North 44-30 in the third-place game. Hannah Swider and Nikki Baird each scored 13 points for the Falcons and Jenna Kortenhoeven had 10 points and seven rebounds, her first double-digit scoring game. Julia Kramper led Downers North with 11.
"We knew day 4, the legs weren't going to be completely there, it was going to come down to heart," Falcons coach Dave Eaton said. "We didn't play all 32 minutes today, but we're working on getting there."
