La Grange offers holiday light recycling

LA GRANGE – The village of La Grange and its Environmental Quality Control Commission are hosting a holiday light recycling event through Jan. 13, 2018, at seven locations in La Grange and La Grange Park.

Residents can drop off unwanted holiday lights for recycling by Republic Services in receptacles at La Grange Village Hall, La Grange Park Village Hall, the La Grange Parking Garage, La Grange Police Department, La Grange Public Library, La Grange Road Train Station and Stone Avenue Train Station, according to a village of La Grange news release.

La Grange works closely with Republic Services to recycle as many items as possible through its curbside recycling program, including holiday items, the release stated. Republic has provided a holiday recycling checklist at shawurl.com/37cr and holiday recycling and reuse ideas at shawurl.com/37cs to assist residents throughout the season.

The village has a commitment to green initiatives, which enhance energy efficiency and environmental awareness, according to the release.

For information about these initiatives and the efforts of the Environmental Quality Control Commission, visit the village's website at villageoflagrange.com.
