New Year’s Eve
Understated elegance, superb service and a beautifully constructed four-course prix fixe at $65 await at Amber Cafe. With several selections in each category, create your own personal dinner. Begin with steak tartar, a New Year's Eve staple in the northern part of our country featuring raw, ground steak combined with shallots, capers, dijonnaise and an egg yolk jam. Follow with lobster bisque, which has been Amber’s featured soup since opening nearly 14 years ago.
Next up, how about a 6-ounce filet mignon topped with crab, asparagus and hollandaise sauce – the classic filet Oscar. And finally, finish with a lava cake topped with strawberry sauce, chocolate frosting and whipped cream. Reservations recommended.
New Year's Eve brings lots of options: Woodgrain Pizza serves until 6 p.m., Bakersfield serves until 10 p.m., DJ’s Sports Bar opens at 10 a.m. and serves until 2 a.m., Pappadeaux serves until 10 p.m., Saffron serves until 9 p.m., Grill 89 serves until 10 p.m., the Cube at the Standard Market will feature cheese boards along with select wines and craft beers, Uncle Bub’s serves until 8 p.m., Vincitori brings back the famous dueling pianos, which fills the entire evening with fabulous food and music (reservations required), and last but not least, the Hilton at Oak Brook Hills Resort brings back the biggest New Year's Eve celebration in the area.
Featured live on ABC7 last year, the Rat Pack is Back returns direct from Las Vegas with its full Vegas show right here in Westmont. Several packages are available with food, drinks, VIP add-ons, overnight accommodations, next day brunch and more.
