LA GRANGE – After nine years with the La Grange Public Library, Executive Director Jeannie Dilger is resigning effective Jan. 3, 2018, to accept a position as executive director of the Palatine Public Library District, according to a La Grange library news release.

“Over the past nine years, I have been fortunate to work with an enthusiastic, innovative staff on a variety of projects that have improved our Library while serving an appreciative community," Dilger said in the release. "I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity and will miss working with the residents and businesses of La Grange."

The library's Board of Trustees will conduct a national search for her replacement.

"The Board is grateful for Jeannie's service to the La Grange Library,” board President Laurie Braun said in the release. “As Executive Director, Jeannie has made patron services a priority, maintained the Library's responsible financial position, and enhanced outreach to local businesses and the community. We wish Jeannie well in her new position at Palatine."

With strategic, technology and facility master plans in place, the library is "well-positioned" to move forward under new leadership, Braun said in the release.
