JOLIET – A Joliet man allegedly became aggressive with security guards and staff assisting his release from Presence Saint Joseph Medical Center, police said.
Shortly after 8 p.m. Wednesday, Joliet police were called to the hospital at 333 Madison St. after receiving a report from a 39-year-old security guard that Steven R. Loftis, 23, of the 300 block of East Washington Street, allegedly was becoming aggressive with hospital staff.
The security guard told police that he and another guard were assisting Loftis with his release from the hospital when he allegedly charged at them in aggressive manner, yelled and pushed them with both hands, Joliet Deputy Police Chief Ed Gregory said.
Loftis also had reportedly been aggressive with other hospital staff.
The guards ended up subduing Loftis and contacting the police. When officers arrived, they arrested him on a charge of aggravated battery.
Loftis was booked into the Will County jail.
