Pantry seeks donations for holiday season
WESTCHESTER – With the holidays quickly approaching, the Westchester Food Pantry is seeking donations to help provide healthy holiday meals to families in need.
The pantry serves about 150 families each month, and that number has been increasing. Cash donations are particularly needed this time of year, as the pantry can often purchase turkeys and other holiday meal items at a reduced cost.
“We’re asking people to consider the cost of a holiday meal, or even 10 meals, and donate that amount,” said Amanda Grant, co-director of the pantry. “During the holidays we always need more. We’re looking for special items because we want people to have a nice holiday meal.”
