Police Reports: Elmhurst for Nov. 10

Attempted murder

Angelo L. Navarro, 23, of the 3100 block of Alta Street, Melrose Park, was charged at 2:13 p.m. Oct. 28 with attempted murder, aggravated battery with a firearm and endangering the life of a child at York Street and Diversey Avenue.

Battery

• Carson A. Smith, 20, of the 41W400 block of Prairie Street, Sugar Grove, was charged at 4:10 a.m. Oct. 16 with aggravated battery, unlawful possession of marijuana and illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor in the 100 block of Fellows Court.

• Almier Dowdell, 19, of the 100 block of South Homan Avenue, Chicago, was charged at 5:50 p.m. Oct. 16 with aggravated battery and resisting a peace officer at Wilder Park, 175 S. Prospect Ave. Kahari Greer, 18, of the 4900 block of West Congress Parkway, Chicago, was charged at the same time and date with unlawful possession of marijuana at the same location.

• Robert Rychter, 59, of the 100 block of North May Street, Addison, was charged at 11:47 p.m. Oct. 14 with domestic battery in the 100 block of North Addison Avenue.

Burglary

• Juan Arevalo, 32, of the 7700 block of Normandy Avenue, Burbank, was charged at 4:15 a.m. Oct. 21 with burglary at Datt Express Corp, 650 W. Grand Ave., Unit 314.

• A wallet containing gift cards reportedly was stolen between 12:15 and 9 a.m. Oct. 21 from an unlocked vehicle in the 400 block of West Alma Street.

• An orange Nishki Pueblo mountain bike reportedly was stolen between 4 and 6 p.m. Oct. 27 from an unsecured attached garage in the 600 block of South Cedar Avenue.

• A purse reportedly was stolen between 12:10 and 2:05 p.m. Oct. 28 from a vehicle parked in the parking lot at L.A. Fitness, 620 N. York Road. The passenger side window reportedly had been broken.

Trespassing

• An unlocked vehicle reportedly was entered between 2 p.m. Oct. 15 and 7:15 a.m. Oct. 17 in the 800 block of Geneva Court.

• An unlocked vehicle reportedly was entered between 1 and 5:15 a.m. Oct. 17 in the 800 block of Geneva Court.

• An unlocked vehicle reportedly was entered between 4 p.m. Oct. 23 and 11 a.m. Oct. 24 in the 200 block of Yorkfield Avenue.

• An unlocked vehicle reportedly was entered between 8 p.m. Oct. 23 and 7 a.m. Oct. 25 in the 900 block of South Cedar Avenue.

Controlled substance possession

• Joseph Riley, 38, of the 1000 block of Hampshire Lane, Elgin, was charged at 1 p.m. Oct. 19 with possession of a controlled substance, reckless driving and speeding at Interstate 290 and York Road.

• Altagarcia Gomez-Perdomo, 34, of the 1700 block of North Keeler Street, Chicago, was charged at 12:25 a.m. Oct. 28 with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia at North Avenue and Route 83.

Delivery of alcohol to a minor

Jami Lessila, 21, of Menomonee Falls, Wis., was charged at 8:34 p.m. Oct. 21 with delivery of alcohol to a minor at Elmhurst College, 190 S. Prospect Ave. Melissa Guerrero, 18, of the 900 block of Garfield Avenue, Peotone, was charged at the same time and date with possession of alcohol by a minor at the same location.

Disorderly conduct

• An incident involving disorderly conduct was reported at 12:03 a.m. Oct. 18 at Thornton's, 476 N. York St.

• Ryan Corbett, 23, of the 1600 block of Kensington Avenue, Westchester, and Jordan Jauch, 23, of the3S300 block of Chestnut Court, Warrenville, were charged at 2:26 a.m. Oct. 21 with disorderly conduct – public intoxication at York and First streets.

• Robert Baldwin, 68, of the 300 block of George Street, Bensenville, was charged at 7 p.m. Oct. 24 with disorderly conduct – public intoxication at B-Nail, 705 N. York Road.

Drug paraphernalia possession

• Graham Pedersen, 18, of the 9700 block of Schiller Boulevard, Franklin Park, was charged at 1:23 a.m. with possession of drug paraphernalia and speeding at Route 83 and Riverside Drive.

• Fabritzio Vavalie, 24, of the 200 block of Hillcrest Avenue, Addison, was charged at 3:37 p.m. Oct. 25 with possession of drug paraphernalia and failure to wear a seatbelt at Third and York streets.

• Jesus Rojas, 23, of the 5100 block of South Talman Avenue, Chicago, was charged at 2:10 a.m. Oct. 29 with possession of drug paraphernalia and disobeying a traffic signal at North Avenue and Route 83.

DUI

• Michael Kernan, 28, of the 100 block of North Prater Avenue, Northlake, was charged at 5:23 p.m. Oct. 15 with driving under the influence of alcohol, improper lane use, damage to park district property and use of unsafe tire at Third Street and Clinton Avenue.

• Gerardo Fabila-Santana, 29, of the 200 block of South Wisconsin Avenue, Villa Park, was charged at 10:37 p.m. Oct. 17 with DUI of alcohol, leaving the scene of an accident, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and illegal transportation of alcohol at Route 83 and St. Charles Road.

• Claudette Towers, 34, of the 1900 block of South 20th Street, Maywood, was charged at 1:22 a.m. Oct. 20 with DUI of alcohol, improper lane use and illegal transportation of alcohol at Route 83 and Van Buren Street. Christopher Clinton, 29, of the 1900 block of South 20th Avenue, Maywood; Donald Coleman, 28, of the 1900 block of South 21st Avenue, Maywood; and Fred Jeter, 30, of the 1900 block of South 19th Avenue, Maywood; were charged at the same time and date with illegal transportation of alcohol at the same location.

• Isacc Rohas, 48, of the 6000 block of West 83rd Street, Burbank, was charged at 12:32 a.m. Oct. 21 with DUI of alcohol, disobeying a traffic control device, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, illegal transportation of alcohol and leaving the scene of an accident at Lake Street and Grand Avenue.

• Ricardo Ballesteros, 51, of the 900 block of North York Road, Elmhurst, was charged at 12:20 a.m. Oct. 22 with DUI of alcohol in the 100 block of East Fullerton Avenue.

• Tores Johnson, 26, of the 1400 block of South 17th Avenue, Maywood, was charged at 1:20 a.m. Oct. 22 with DUI of alcohol, speeding and disobeying a traffic control signal at St. Charles Road and West Avenue.

• Monserrat Malonson, 31, of the 3200 block of South 52nd Court, Cicero, was charged at 4:07 a.m. Oct. 25 with DUI of alcohol and impeding the flow of traffic at York and Third streets.

• Paul Byram, 43, of the zero to 100 block of Coolidge Court, Streamwood, was charged at 11:41 p.m. Oct. 27 with DUI of alcohol, improper lane use and operating an uninsured motor vehicle at First and York streets.

False identification

Ismael A. Garcia, 24, of the 400 block of West Division Street, Villa Park, was charged at 3:03 a.m. Oct. 28 with unlawful possession of fictitious identification, driving while license suspended and operating an uninsured motor vehicle at North Avenue and Route 83.

Filing a false police report

Marcie Eldred, 41, of the 100 block of West Virginia Street, Elmhurst, was charged at 8:38 p.m. Oct. 16 with felony filing a false police report and violation of bail bond in the 100 block of West Virginia Street.

Harassment

• An incident involving telephone harassment was reported at 4:36 p.m. Oct. 19 in the 800 block of South Mitchell Avenue.

• An incident involving in-person harassment was reported at 6 p.m. Oct. 21 at Sky Zone, 325 W. Lake St.

• An incident involving text harassment was reported at 6 p.m. Oct. 29 in the 400 block of East Vallette Sreet.

Lost property

An Illinois driver's license reportedly was lost between 2 p.m. Oct. 16 and 10 a.m. Oct. 17 in the 400 block of South Mitchell Avenue.

Marijuana possession

• James W. Uhrich, 21, of the 900 block of Stoddard Avenue, Wheaton, was charged at 6:37 p.m. Oct. 17 with unlawful possession of marijuana at Elmhurst College, 190 S. Prospect Ave.

• Hermez Abraham, 20, of the 8600 block of Kedvale Avenue, Skokie, was charged at 6:38 p.m. Oct. 17 with unlawful possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia at Elmhurst Colllege, 190 S. Prospect Ave.

• Justin Peters, 20, of the 1300 block of Fox Hound Trail, Beecher; Lucas Cannarile, 21, of the 100 block of Frost Road, Williamston, Mich.; Brandon Fulmer, 19, of the 300 block of Maple Avenue, Downers Grove; Alicia Vincenzo, 19, of the 200 block of Arbor Glen Drive, Bloomingdale; and Aaron Cannon, 19, of the 800 block of Creekside Circle, Austell, Ga.; were charged at 9:33 p.m. Oct. 20 with unlawful possession of marijuana in the 300 block of South West Avenue.

• Emily Cooper, 19, of the 14800 block of Caletta Terrace, Oak Forest, was charged at 1:37 a.m. Oct. 22 with unlawful possession of marijuana and driving without headlights when required at St. Charles Road and Villa Avenue. Olivia Kuenster, 21, of the 100 block of Fellows Court, Elmhurst, was charged at the same time and date with unlawful possession of marijuana at the same location.

• Jessica Muniz, 20, of the 1800 block of North 40th Avenue, Stone Park, was charged at 12:11 a.m. Oct. 26 with unlawful possession of marijuana and speeding at North and West avenues.

• Derrick Lomax, 26, of the 200 block of South Cranberry Street, Bolingbrook, was charged at 5:21 p.m. Oct. 26 with unlawful possession of marijuana and illegal window tinting at Route 83 and North Avenue.

Order of protection

An order of protection short form was served at 5 a.m. Oct. 21 in the 300 block of Sunnyside Avenue.

Property damage

• Graffiti reportedly was marked between 12:01 a.m. June 30 and 12:30 p.m. Oct. 13 on the equipment panels of a roof in the 100 block of East Schiller Street.

• A truck reportedly was scratched between 2 and 5 p.m Oct. 19 in the 100 block of North Addison Avenue.

• Charles Gammill, 29, of the 100 block of Elm Avenue, Elmhurst, was charged at 6:59 p.m. Oct. 23 with criminal damage to property in the 100 block of Elm Avenue.

• The egging of a vehicle was reported at 1:03 a.m. Oct. 24 in the 100 block of East South Street. The rear window reportedly was broken out, and two dents reportedly were made to the hood.

• A vehicle reportedly was keyed between 7:30 p.m. Oct. 25 and 10 a.m. Oct. 26 while it was parked in a driveway in the 400 block of South Prospect Avenue.

Suspicious circumstances

• An incident involving suspicious circumstances was reported at 4:15 p.m. Oct. 21 as having occured at 8:45 p.m. Oct. 20 at Willow and Schiller streets.

• A suspicious person was reported at 11:30 a.m. Oct. 26 at Emerson Elementary School, 400 N. West Ave.

Theft

• Chase R. Cherney, 30, of the 29W400 block of Tanglewood Lane, Warrenville, was charged at 4:15 p.m. Oct. 7 with felony retail theft and served with an unrelated order of protection at Mariano's, 678 N. York Road.

• Both license plates reportedly were stolen between 5 p.m. Oct. 16 and 10:30 a.m. Oct. 17 from a vehicle parked overnight in a driveway in the 400 block of Berkley Avenue.

• A vehicle was reported stolen at 11:11 a.m. Oct. 17 after it was not returned at the end of a rental period to Enterprise Leasing, 896 N. York Road. The vehicle reportedly had been impounded by the Northlake Police Department because of an arrest.

• The front license plate of a vehicle reportedly was stolen between 1 p.m. Oct. 13 and 7:30 a.m. Oct. 14 in the 300 block of South West Avenue.

• Over-the-counter medication and personal hygiene products reportedly were stolen between 2:10 and 2:30 p.m. Oct. 17 at Mariano's, 678 N. York Road.

• Eric R. Lord, 31, of the 5100 block of Betsy Lane, McHenry, was charged at 3:45 p.m. Oct. 18 with felony retail theft, no valid driver's license and no valid registration at Mariano's, 678 N. York Road.

• An unlocked BMW 325i with key fob and a wallet inside reportedly was stolen between 11:15 p.m. Oct. 18 and 8:30 a.m. Oct. 19 from a driveway in the 100 block of Fairfield Avenue. The victim's credit card reportedly was used at a gas station in Chicago. The vehicle was later recovered and towed to the Elmhurst Police Department.

• Gillette Fusion razor blades and a box of Rogaine reportedly were stolen between 10:17 and 10:23 a.m. Oct. 19 at Jewel-Osco, 153 E. Schiller St.

• Shoes reportedly were stolen at 8:45 p.m. Oct. 19 at Shoe Carnival, 195 S. Route 83.

• Hand tools reportedly were stolen between 6 p.m. Oct. 18 and 9:30 a.m. Oct. 21 from a cardboard box in the 100 block of East Fremont Avenue.

• The front and rear license plates of a vehicle reportedly were stolen between noon July 26 and noon Oct. 22 from a rear parking lot in the 300 block of South West Avenue.

• Evan Alan Miles, 18, of the 100 block of South Prospect Avenue, Elmhurst, was charged at 9:19 p.m. Oct. 28 with retail theft at Kohl's, 303 S. Route 83.

Threat

An incident involving a threat via telephone was reported at 5:23 p.m. Oct. 1 at Elmhurst College, 190 S. Prospect Ave.

Underage drinking

• Zachary Rutkowski, 18, of the 900 block of South Bryan Street, Elmhurst, was charged at 11:22 p.m. Oct. 18 with consumption of alcohol by a minor at St. Charles Road and Berkley Avenue.

• Kelley Newsome, 18, of the 100 block of Fellows Court, Elmhurst, was charged at 5:13 a.m. Oct. 19 with consumption of alcohol by a minor at Route 83 and St. Charles Road.

Unlawful parenting time interference

Emil Amarei, 44, of the 4500 block of Riverdale Drive, Johnsburg, was charged at 8:08 a.m. Oct. 16 with unlawful parenting time interference at the Elmhurst Police Department, 125 E. First St.

Warrant arrest

• Salvatore Vitro, 27, of the 1000 block of North Edgelawn Drive, Plano, was arrested at 11:42 a.m. Oct. 19 on four warrants out of DuPage County and one warrant out of Kane County and charged with possession of a controlled substance and endangering the life of a child at Interstate 88 and Midwest Road. Erin Vitro, 31, of the 900 block of Westgate Drive, Aurora, was arrested at the same time and date on a warrant out of Kendall County and charged with driving while license suspended, improper lane use and operating an uninsured motor vehicle at the same location.

• Cristina Maldonado, 23, of the 200 block of Conde Street, West Chicago, was arrested at 3:02 p.m. Oct. 19 on a warrant out of DuPage County at I-88 and Highland Avenue.
