COUNTRYSIDE – Ken Gaul is the new chief financial officer at Helping Hand Center, a nonprofit serving more than 550 children and adults with disabilities in suburban Cook County and greater Chicago-area communities since 1955.
Gaul comes to Helping Hand Center with more than 20 years of experience in financial management within the nonprofit sector, according to a news release from the center. Most recently, he served as chief financial officer with Aspire of Illinois in Westchester, where he oversaw accounting, finance, information technology services and maintenance.
Gaul was selected from more than 75 applicants for the position.
"Although every candidate brought a very diverse set of skills and qualifications, Gaul most embodies the mission, core values, and direction Helping Hand Center is moving toward," the release stated.
In his role as chief financial officer, Gaul will work under the direction of the CEO in order to strengthen the agency’s infrastructure and financial strategies, allowing the organization to continue its mission of providing independence for children and adults with disabilities, according to the release.
