WHEATON – During their arraignment Oct. 23, four of the five suspended Wheaton College football players charged in a 2016 hazing incident pleaded not guilty.
Samuel TeBos, of Allendale, Mich.; Kyler Kregel, of Grand Rapids, Mich.; Noah Spielman, of Columbus, Ohio; and Benjamin Pettway, of Lookout Mount, Ga., pleaded not guilty during their arraignment to aggravated battery, mob action and unlawful restraint in the March 2016 incident. The players were released on bond after $50,000 arrest warrants were issued for them.
Another player, James Cooksey, of Jacksonville, Fla., is set to be arraigned Nov. 13. The players have been suspended from practice and games.
