Former state Rep. Sandra Pihos of Glen Ellyn is set to appear in court Nov. 3 after being charged with retail theft by Lombard police in September.

Pihos allegedly stole three women's clothing items Sept. 26 from the Von Maur store at Yorktown Center, 145 Yorktown Shopping Center, Lombard, according to court records.

Pihos, 71, was elected to the General Assembly in 2002. She lost her bid for a seventh term in 2014 to then-Lombard trustee Peter Breen in the Republican primary race for Illinois House District 48.

The 48th District covers all or part of Lombard, Downers Grove, Glen Ellyn, Oakbook Terrace and Wheaton. Pihos served in the General Assembly from January 2003 to January 2015.

In 2015, she lost her bid for a seat on the College of DuPage Board of Trustees. Pihos also served on the Glenbard Township High School District 87 Board of Education from 1993 to 2003.

Pihos is a former elementary and middle school teacher, gifted and special education teacher, high school guidance counselor, and small business owner of a restaurant management firm.
