BERWYN –The Berwyn Public Health District is introducing new programs during the remainder of 2017, according to a district news release.
Howard Brown Health will be at the Health District building, 6600 W. 26th St., Berwyn, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. the first Monday of each month and from 3 to 8 p.m. the first Wednesday of each month. The organization will provide confidential screenings for sexually transmitted infections, including rapid HIV testing and counseling, and some forms of contraception, the release stated.
Dietitians from Dominican University also will be providing nutrition counseling from 9 a.m. to noon Nov. 7, 8, 28 and 29, as well as from 5 to 8 p.m. Nov. 1, according to the release.
Starting in November, the Health District will be partnering with the Berwyn Pav YMCA for a lecture series. The lectures will be held in conjunction with the senior lunch program at the YMCA, 2947 Oak Park Ave., Berwyn, discussing topics such as dementia, the release stated.
Seniors can register for the $2.50 meal by the previous Wednesday by calling 708-749-0606 or visiting the front desk at the YMCA, according to the release.
