A free senior health fair will be from 9 a.m. to noon Oct. 13 at Core Fitness Center, 16028 127th St., Lemont.
More than 50 groups and vendors will participate in the fair, which is sponsored by state Rep. Jim Durkin, R-Western Springs, and state Sen. John Curran, R-Downers Grove, according to a news release.
Seniors will have the opportunity to receive screenings for hearing, blood pressure, pneumonia and spinal stress, apply for or renew their passports and use Illinois’ ICash program to see if they have any unclaimed property being held by the state. Flu shots also will be available.
Participants can obtain information on hospice, assisted living, nutrition, eye health, Alzheimer’s, transportation, utility savings, financial security and auditory therapy, the release stated. Unwanted prescription medication can be dropped off at the event, and it must be placed in zip-close bags.
The Rules of the Road safety course will be taught by the Secretary of State’s Office, and it will begin at 10 a.m. Also, for all those interested in applying for or renewing their passport, the first 50 passport applicants at the fair will receive their photo free of charge.
