Park District Events and Recreation Manager Cody Brown said the event is always popular with the community because it offers a wide variety of beer from several local breweries.
More cider varieties also will be available this year than in the past, he said.
“We received a lot of requests for more ciders, so before we’d only have three or four, but this year there will be seven or eight ciders,” Brown said. “We’ll also have ales, porters, IPAs and seasonal beers. There are so many different styles and so many different ways of brewing beer, and we try to bring all styles because everyone has different tastes.”
Berwyn’s very own Flapjack Brewery will serve up its Fantasmo Vanilla Cream Ale and SMaSHione Cascade Harvest Ale. Lyons’ BuckleDown Brewing will offer an Oktoberfest beer along with Simcoe Pale Ale, while Oak Park’s Kinslahger Brewing Co. will sample Prohibition Pilsner and Chicago Common.
Several other local breweries, including Oak Park Brewing Co., Forest Park’s Exit Strategy Brewing Co. and Darien’s Miskatonic Brewing Co., are scheduled to share their libations at the festival.
