LA GRANGE – Both Stone Avenue Train Station and a parking garage in La Grange are undergoing maintenance this week, according to the village of La Grange.

The train station facility at 701 W. Burlington Ave. is expected to be closed through Oct. 6 as the village patches and refinishes the terrazzo floor, as the floor is in need of repair, a village news release stated.

Waterproofing membrane repairs are being done this week on the parking structure at Sixth and Harris avenues, according to another village release.

The second and third floors of the parking garage are esxpected to be closed until 5 p.m. Oct. 6, but the first floor will remain open while the work is occurring, the release stated.

In order to accommodate the temporary loss of parking, La Grange has authorized parking in Lot 14 at Locust and Ogden avenues, according to the release. The village also will temporarily suspend on-street parking restrictions on adjacent side streets while the work is being performed. Those streets include Sixth, Seventh and Eighth avenues from Burlington Avenue to Elm Avenue.

Overnight parking restrictions will remain in effect, the release stated.

"We apologize for any inconvenience resulting from this work and thank you in advance for your understanding as the Village completes this important maintenance activity," the village stated about both projects in the releases.

Anyone with questions regarding the work or special needs that are of concern should contact the Department of Public Works at 708-579-2328.
