PLAINFIELD – A Plainfield man with a history of sex offenses was arrested and charged with allegedly possessing child pornography.
Nicholas B. Diddens, 31, of the 20900 block of Barrington Lane, was arrested by Will County sheriff’s deputies and booked into the Will County jail Thursday.
Sheriff’s deputies took electronic devices out of Diddens’ home Thursday. The devices allegedly contained images of children, said Lt. Dan Jungles of the Will County Sheriff’s Office.
Diddens’ bond was set at $100,000. Jungles said the sheriff’s office might file additional charges pending the outcome of its investigation into the electronic media obtained from Diddens’ home.
In 2004, Diddens pleaded guilty to the sexual exploitation of a child and was sentenced to two years probation. Diddens was ordered to complete a psychological evaluation, register as a sex offender and submit to DNA and disease testing.
In 2007, Diddens pleaded guilty to unlawful association by a child sex offender. He was sentenced to 180 days in the Will County jail and two years probation, and he was ordered to have no contact with minors younger than 18 or with Community Christian Church.
