McCOOK – The West Suburban Chamber of Commerce and Industry will host its annual Regional Health, Wellness and Safety Family Festival, in partnership with Amita Health, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sept. 23 at the Max McCook Athletic & Exposition in McCook.
The festival will include vendors covering financial, fitness and safety topics to services for seniors and everything in between, according to a chamber news release. The morning’s speaker is Stuart Breslow, financial expert and 9/11 survivor. His presentation called “9/11/01: An Eyewitness Account” will be at 10:45 a.m.
“The West Suburban Chamber has worked hard to ensure a healthy and thriving region for 115 years,” chamber board Chairman Marty Scott said in the release. “This free festival is the perfect opportunity for people from all over to visit vendors, gain valuable resources, increase knowledge about what west suburban businesses and nonprofits offer and have a lot of fun.”
The event also will feature the following activities:
• Blood Drive sponsored by Heartland Blood Centers
• Donation area for Hurricane Relief for the Red Cross
• Kid Zone with a teddy bear clinic by Amita, face painter and inflatables
• Emergency vehicles on site
• Photo booth
• Fitness demonstrations
• Food demonstrations
• Food court with local restaurants and caterers.
Vendor booths are still available, and chamber members receive significant discounts, the release stated. Event sponsorships also are available for a higher level of company recognition.
