If you haven’t been to the library lately, now is the perfect time for a visit. A public library card is a free ticket to programs, hands-on training, book clubs and digital resources. We have all of that and more at the Westmont Public Library!

With more than 75 area libraries in our system, a Westmont Public Library card provides access to more than 8 million books in print and digitally. Our digital branch, conveniently open 24 hours a day and seven days a week, allows you to check out the newest and hottest releases of eBooks, eMagazines and eAudiobooks. It also provides access to streaming content with services like Hoopla. Want to practice Italian in your pajamas or take a self-paced course from home? Visit our digital branch and use your library card to check out Mango Languages or Lynda.com!

Today’s public libraries offer more than just books, and Westmont library is no different. We offer a collection of tools and services so you can explore, create and learn new skills with some popular devices like sewing machines, a vinyl cutter and our latest tool, a carving machine. We also have a 3D printer, VHS to DVD conversion machine and tech tools likes iPads for checkout. Visit westmontlibrary.org/makery for more details, helpful videos and project ideas, and a list of available technology tools.

With an exciting new school year underway, we’d like to take this opportunity to remind parents that a library card is the most important school supply of all. Students can make the library their go-to spot for homework help, reading suggestions and study space. Studies show that children who use the library perform better in school, and we have plenty of resources to help them succeed!

So, what’s so great about a Westmont Public Library card? The short answer: Everything! If you don’t have a card, now is the perfect time to get one. Just bring in proof of Westmont residency, like a utility bill, lease agreement or Illinois driver’s license, and we’ll get you signed up. We look forward to seeing you soon!
