GLEN ELLYN – A 24-year-old man was injured in a shooting at about 9:30 p.m. Sept. 13 at the Budgetel Inn and Suites, 675 Roosevelt Road, Glen Ellyn.

The man, who was shot in the leg, was transported to Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove with non-life-threatening injuries, according to a news release from the Glen Ellyn Police Department. The man had fled to the Dunkin Donuts at 651 Roosevelt Road, the release stated.

The individuals involved in the incident fled prior to the arrival of police, according to the release. Officers discovered evidence in the parking lot on the west side of the hotel, which is where it is believed the incident took place, the release stated.

Police did not have any other information about the incident at this time. The investigation is ongoing.

The incident is the latest in a long list of criminal activities at the complex, which has extended-stay and transient rooms. Earlier this year, a 27-year-old Glen Ellyn man was sentenced to 10 years in prison for severely beating his 61-year-old father in June 2016 at the Budgetel Inn and Suites and America’s Best Inn complex. The man had shared a hotel room at the complex with his father and brother.
