Roger Orozco of Carol Stream announced Sept. 12 he will run in the Republican primary for Illinois' 46th House District, a seat currently held by state Rep. Deb Conroy, D-Villa Park.
Orozco plans to "bring true property tax reform, term limits and equitable school funding," according to a campaign news release.
“I am running for state representative because career politicians like Deb Conroy have taken for granted her constituents," he said in the release. "We need politicians willing to stand up to both parties and work for solutions."
Orozco is a police officer, marine and former Board of Education member for Community Consolidated School District 93 in Bloomingdale, the release stated. He has lived in Carol Stream for the past 15 years, and he is married, with two children.
The 46th District includes all of Villa Park and Glendale Heights and portions of Elmhurst, Lombard, Addison, Glen Ellyn, Oakbrook Terrace, Carol Stream, Hanover Park, Wheaton and Bloomingdale.
