GLEN ELLYN – A man connected with a string of bank robberies in the area is being sought in the robbery of a Glen Ellyn bank on Sept. 2.
The man at 11:40 a.m. Sept. 2 allegedly robbed the First American Bank at 830 Roosevelt Road in Glen Ellyn, the FBI announced Sept. 7. The supect is described as a white man in his mid-20s to 30s who is between 5 feet 8 inches and 6 feet 1 inch tall, with brown hair and a light complexion.
At the time of the robbery, he was wearing a black coat, a black button-down shirt and black sunglasses. He is considered to be armed and dangerous, according to an FBI notice.
He also is a suspect in the Aug. 19 robbery of a Chase bank in Lombard, the July 28 robbery of a Fifth Third Bank in Des Plaines, the July 22 robbery of a Fifth Third Bank in Rosemont, the June 30 robbery of a Chase bank in Buffalo Grove, the Feb. 3 robbery of a Fifth Third Bank in Elgin and the Jan. 12 robbery of a Fifth Third Bank in Woodridge.
The FBI is offering a reward of as much as $5,000 for information leading directly to the arrest of the suspect. Those with information can contact the FBI's Chicago Field Office at 312-421-6700 or submit a tip at tips.fbi.gov.
