WESTMONT – Community Unit School District 201 is seeking applicants interested in filling a vacancy on the school board created by the resignation of Mara Notbusch.

Interested residents should submit a one-page letter of interest, along with a resume, by Aug. 17. Submissions can be emailed to Marie Charlton, president of the Board of Education, at mcharlton@cusd201.org. They also can be sent or delivered to the district’s Administration Center, 133 S. Grant St. The letter should include the applicant’s name and contact information as well as the reasons he or she wants to serve on the board and the skills he or she will bring to the position.

A board member must be a United States citizen, at least 18 years old, a registered voter and a resident of Illinois and CUSD 201 for at least one year immediately preceding the appointment.

Candidates must file a Statement of Economic Interest with the DuPage County Clerk. The form can be downloaded from the DuPage County website.

The school board plans to interview all candidates the week of Aug. 28 and appoint a new member at the Sept. 12 meeting.
