Romeofest to be held Aug. 3-6

ROMEOVILLE – The annual carnival Romeofest is set for Aug. 3 through Aug. 6.

This year, the fest will include its usual carnival, concerts, family fun and other events. Some highlights include a car show, musical acts such as 7th Heaven and ’80s rock band covers and a talent show for kids. There also will be several food booths, a beer garden, bingo, a bean bag tournament and fireworks.

The carnival entrance fee from 5 p.m. until closing is $5 for ages 11 and up. Kids 10 and under, senior citizens and children and parents together get in free. Mega passes also are available for purchase.

From 10 a.m. until noon Saturday, Aug. 5, also is Georgia Wilson Day, where individuals with special needs are invited to go on carnival rides for free. Participants must register at the Romeoville Recreation Center or with Northern Will County Special Recreation.

Shuttle bus services also are provided Friday through Sunday at Carillon Club House, Grand Haven, Irene King School, Kenneth Hermansen School, Robert C. Hill School, Romeoville High School and Volunteer Park.
