Rondeau started July 2016 after ousting of embattled President Robert Breuder
Shortly after becoming the College of DuPage's sixth president in July 2016, Ann Rondeau marched as part of COD's float in Glen Ellyn's Fourth of July Parade.
What struck her was seeing the positive reaction from people as they saw COD's float go by.
"It was really very affirming after a period of disruptiveness here at the college, to have such a warm response by people," Rondeau said. "There were literally hundreds of people shouting out College of DuPage's [name]. It was very cool."
Rondeau started July 1, 2016, as the college's first female president. The majority of the college's Board of Trustees voted to approve her appointment in the wake of the board voting 4-1 in October 2015 to fire embattled President Robert Breuder.
Rondeau recently sat down with Suburban Life to discuss her first year as president and the college's future.
