JOLIET – Two people were arrested after shots were fired Tuesday night at a Joliet motel.
Deputy Chief Ed Gregory said a disturbance at 10:23 p.m. brought officers to Fenton's Motel, 2305 W. Jefferson St.
"While en route, they were advised a subject had fired a gun outside one of the rooms," Gregory said.
The officers knocked on the door and were met by Treston Adams, 24, who witnesses identified as the man who fired the gun, according to Gregory.
"When they searched the room, they found a bullet hole in the floor, three semiautomatic shell casings in the room and a black Colt BB gun," Gregory said. "Witnesses said another man had left with the real gun, but Adams had also stood in the parking lot and fired in the air."
Adams, of the 200 block of Madison Street in Joliet, was arrested on charges of aggravated discharge of a firearm and reckless discharge of a firearm and booked into the Will County jail.
Gregory said several people had been at the room, including Tylesha Jackson, 20, of Rockdale, who refused to leave when management asked police to escort her from the premises. Jackson was arrested on charges of criminal trespassing and resisting arrest.
