Police seek information on Minooka armed robbery

The Kendall County Sheriff’s Office is looking for information on an armed robbery that occurred Monday at a gas station in unincorporated Kendall County near Minooka.

Sheriff’s police said deputies were dispatched about 11:40 a.m. to a Citgo gas station in the 17000 block of Ridge Road for a report of an armed robbery that had just occurred.

Police said the clerk reported that a male subject entered the store armed with a handgun, and demanded cash from the register. The robber was described as African-American, in his early 20s with a medium build, and wearing a blue hoodie, black coat, blue jeans and white rimmed sunglasses with a reflective lens, police said.

The suspect left the scene in a blue Dodge Charger headed south on Ridge Road, police said. None of the customers or the clerk were injured, police said.

Kendall County sheriff’s deputies are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect. Any tips or information can be given to detectives@co.kendall.il.us or by calling 630-553-5856. Callers who wish to remain anonymous can contact the Kendall County Crime Stoppers at 630-553-5999.
