LAKE IN THE HILLS – The Lake in the Hills Police Department will hold a new senior safety class April 1.
The free class addresses threats and concerns faced by senior citizens, according to a news release from the department.
Topics will include personal safety, senior abuse, social media, scams, situational awareness, defensive tactics, and home and travel safety, according to the release.
Meg Krase of Senior Services Associates will speak about senior abuse, local services available to seniors, and tips and care, according to the release.
The Huntley Fire Protection District also will give a presentation on fall prevention, and police instructors will be there to help educate and answer questions.
The class will be from 9 a.m. to noon April 1 at the Safety Education Center, 1109 Crystal Lake Road, Lake in the Hills.
