Glen Ellyn mosque to hold prayer service for Orlando shooting victims

Service to be 7:45 p.m. June 14

GLEN ELLYN – The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, Glen Ellyn chapter, will hold a prayer service from 7:45 to 8:15 p.m. June 14 for the victims of the Orlando nightclub shooting and their families. The community is also encouraging its members to break their fasts and instead donate blood.

“We condemn this senseless and horrific act of violence in the strongest possible terms,” Ahmadiyya Muslim Community Imam Shamshad A. Nasir said in a news release. "Our hearts go out to the innocent victims and their families. We stand in solidarity with them as their neighbors and brothers and sisters in peace."

The public is invited to the prayer service, which will be at Masjid Baet-ul-Jaamay, 2S510 Route 53 near Glen Ellyn.
