Superhero Hustle in Villa Park supports Easter Seals

VILLA PARK – Family and friends supported local superheroes at the 13th annual Run for the Kids: Superhero Hustle 5K Run/2-Mile Walk on May 7 at Easter Seals DuPage &
Fox Valley in Villa Park.

The event benefits the mission of Easter Seals DuPage & Fox Valley to enable infants, children and adults with disabilities to achieve maximum independence, and to provide support for the families who love and care for them. Participants were encouraged to
form a team to support Easter Seals and come dressed as their favorite superhero or create an identity of their own.

The final fundraising total is still being calculated, but, to date, family fundraising teams raised more than $60,000, the news release stated. The event drew 600 runners and walkers, a record-breaking year for attendance and fundraising.

Founded in 1952, Easter Seals DuPage & Fox Valley is one of the largest and most highly regarded pediatric outpatient rehabilitation centers in the nation, serving nearly 3,200 infants, children and adults with therapy and audiology services each year, the release stated. Key services include physical, occupational, speech-language, nutrition and assistive technology therapies and audiology services for all ages. It additionally offers social services, community outreach programs, specialty clinics and The Lily Garden, an inclusive child care center.
