WAUCONDA – The 26-year-old Wauconda man who sparked a five-hour standoff with police Wednesday faces three misdemeanor charges, police said.

Tyler Scatena smashed out the windows of his trailer at 410 S. Barrington Road, Lot, 92, made threatening remarks to his neighbors, then retreated into his trailer before police arrived, according to a news release from the Wauconda Police Department.

After failing to make contact with Scatena, Wauconda Police requested assistance from the Lake County Metropolitan Enforcement Group and Illinois State Police SWAT. Scatena was taken into custody at 7:40 p.m., police said.

Wauconda Sgt. John Thibault said Scatena was charged with assault, disorderly conduct and obstruction of justice. Scatena was transferred to Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital for medical evaluation, Thibault said.
