BATAVIA – Batavia police are asking for the public’s help to identify two people suspected of retail theft at a Walgreens store.
At about 9:25 p.m. Dec 1, one male and one female entered the Walgreens at 1918 W. Fabyan Parkway in Batavia, police said. Video surveillance shows the two people concealing between $500 to $1,000 worth of cosmetics in a purse and leaving the store without paying for the items, Batavia Detective Kevin Bretz said.
“They were in the store for about three minutes,” Bretz said Wednesday.
A surveillance video still shows the man wearing a black jacket, blue jeans and a knit cap. The woman’s hair was mostly blond, and she wore dark pants, a long-sleeved top and a light-colored scarf. It is unknown whether the store’s anti-theft system inside the entrance beeped or sounded when the suspects left, Bretz said.
A vehicle description from the incident also was not available. Anyone with information is asked to contact Batavia police at 630-454-2500.
