Police Reports

Police reports: Glen Ellyn for Sept. 17

Information in Police Reports is obtained from the Glen Ellyn Police Department. Individuals in Police Reports who have been charged with a crime have not been proven guilty in court.

Battery

• Lourdes Cervantes, 32, of the 1200 block of Old Bond Court, Glen Ellyn, was charged at 11:52 p.m. Sept. 4 with domestic battery in the 1200 block of Old Bond Court.

• Ivan P. Mendiola, 24, of the 0-100 block of Briar Street, Glen Ellyn, was charged at 6:54 p.m. Sept. 6 with domestic battery in the 0-100 block of Briar Street.

DUI

John Yam K. Len, 30, of the 500 block of Pershing Avenue, Glen Ellyn, was charged at 8:25 p.m. Sept. 2 with driving under the influence of alcohol, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and improper use of a telecommunication device in the 500 block of Pershing Avenue.

Home invasion

Someone forced entry into a residence and held victims at gunpoint, removed a level board from the living room and left at 9:24 p.m. Sept. 3 in the 300 block of Pennsylvania Avenue.

Burglary

• A parked vehicle was keyed between 7 a.m. Aug. 12 and 7 p.m. Sept. 2 in the 300 block of Maple Street.

• A television, BluRay player and pair of headphones were stolen from a residence between 3 p.m. Sept. 2 and 2 a.m. Sept. 3 in the 300 block of Cedar Lane.

Theft

• Thomas J. Centeno, 50, of the 300 block of Elm Street, Glen Ellyn, was charged at 9:26 a.m. Sept. 4 with theft and forgery at 535 Duane St.

• Cash, credit cards and a driver's license were reported stolen from several purses at 11:20 a.m. Aug. 31 at Churchill School at 240 Geneva Road. The cash and credit cards were later recovered.

• A cell phone was stolen from a locker room bench between 5:30 and 5:45 p.m. Sept. 2 at Glenbard West High School, 670 Crescent Blvd.

• An unsecured bike was stolen from a bike rack between 9 and 11 p.m. Sept. 4 at Glenbard West High School's Memorial Field, 670 Crescent Blvd.

• An electric shopping cart was stolen at 7:17 p.m. Sept. 5 at the Jewel at 599 Roosevelt Road and was later recovered.

• A bike was stolen from a bike rack between 3:30 p.m. Sept. 4 and 8:30 a.m. Sept. 6 at the train depot.

• A pair of emerald earrings were stolen from an estate sale at 11:43 a.m. Sept. 5 in the 100 block of Stableford Drive.

• Foreign currency was stolen from a bedroom at 12:19 p.m. Sept. 5 in the 400 block of Williamsburg Road.

Property damage

• A mailbox post was damaged between 1:45 and 2:15 p.m. Aug. 31 in the 800 block of Marson Avenue.

• A window pane was damaged between 12:45 and 3:30 p.m. Sept. 5 in the 300 block of Center Street.
