Roselle woman dies in Bloomingdale collision, man critically injured

Jill Mraz, of Roselle, died of multiple traumatic injuries

BLOOMINGDALE – A Roselle woman is dead and a man remains intensive care following a Sept. 8 Bloomingdale car crash, according to a Bloomingdale Police Department news release.

Preliminary police investigations determined that about 4:50 p.m. Sept. 8 the driver of a tractor-trailer ran a red light while travelling east on Lake Street at Glen Ellyn Road, according to police.

The tractor-trailer then collided with an SUV, killing the driver, a Roselle woman, and severely injuring the passenger.

The driver, Jill Mraz, 56, of Roselle, was pronounced dead at Adventist Glen Oaks Medical Center in Glendale Heights. Preliminary findings determined that she died of multiple traumatic injuries, according to a spokesman for the DuPage County Coroner's Office.

A man who was a passenger in the same vehicle was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove where he remains in intensive care, the release stated.

The incident is still under investigation and police are not releasing further details, including the identity or status of the driver of the trailer-truck. Anyone with information regarding this accident is asked to contact the Bloomingdale Police Department at 630-529-9668.
