She hopes to reschedule the suburban stop on her tour in the future. The new book delves into the relationships among three half sisters and their grandmother who must sell her cherished home on Sullivan’s Island, S.C. A wild dolphin they name Delphine serves as the trilogy’s keystone. It recently was announced to Monroe's fans that her best-seller "The Beach House" will star Andie McDowell in a Hallmark Channel movie next year.

ABOUT: Glen Ellyn Historical Society member Jim Manak will show off his 1929 Hupmobile Century Six as one of the vehicles in the organization's second annual Glen Ellyn Vintage Auto Fest. Three Pierce-Arrow autos and other classics will be displayed, enhanced by talks on cars and Glen Ellyn auto history. Chicago’s Own Mobile Pizza Oven provides food, and a bake sale tempts with homemade pie, cookies and pastries. Stacy’s Corners Store will be open, with mini-tours of Stacy’s Tavern Museum from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m.

ABOUT: A Flag Day performance by the 50-member West Suburban Concert Band will be presented by the Downers Grove Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. "Help us celebrate the stars and stripes," invites the group, which will conduct special recognition for veterans. The band is directed by Henry "Hank" Hiorns. The many credits of his music career include working at Willowbrook High School in Villa Park, and offering instruction in Braille music reading for students who are visually impaired.
