A fundraiser for the Robert Crown Center for Health Education on Saturday will feature portraits of mothers and their children.

HINSDALE – The Robert Crown Center will co-host an event at Clementine Beauty, 42 S. Washington St., for mother and child photographs, the proceeds of which will support the Robert Crown Center’s educational mission.

The event will take place between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Saturday.

Hinsdale retailer Clementine Beauty will serve as the backdrop from photographs of mothers and their children shot by Nicee Martin of Miss Motley Photography.

Martin will donate the $100 sitting fee for the photographs to the Robert Crown Center for Health Education. The funds will be used to subsidize health programs by the center in low-income communities.

Families can schedule 15-minute appointments and will receive two 5-by-7 inch prints from the session.

Appointments are required and can be scheduled by calling 630-481-6292.

Robert Crown Center summer camps now open for registration

The Robert Crown Center is registering kids in sixth through eighth grades for their Body Trek Science Camp this summer. In addition, the center also has open registration for a new girls-only camp, Happy to Be Me!

Body Trek exposes campers to dozens of health professions to teach the elements of science involved in each profession and features regular field trips to science museums and hospital surgical units.

Happy to Be Me! focuses on girl-centered, social-emotional learning opportunities around the themes of self-acceptance, individuality and resiliency.

Body Trek is hosted on varying dates at three locations. Happy to Be Me! will take place from 1 to 4 p.m. each day between Aug. 3 and 7.
