Elmhurst Eagles' 93-pounders win title

ELMHURST – Undefeated seasons are never easy to achieve, but one squad from the Elmhurst Eagles youth football program did just that.

The 93-pound AFC Gold team capped off an 11-0 season in the Bill George Youth Football League with an 18-0 victory against Hanover Park at Willowbrook High School on Saturday.

Members of the team were: Max Baer, Jeffrey Colglianese, Mark Cozzi, Luke D'Agostino, Bruce Duda, Drew Duxbury, Cam Gifford, Vincent Gilboy, Max Hansmann, Jack Klimek, Nolan Korzeniowski, Matt Lupa, Aiden Nawrocki, Nick Parisi, Kenny Slehofer, Everett Snyder, Boe Trainer, Wes Trainer, Trevor Vicens and Conor Wall. The team was coached by Bart Lupa, Nolan Narwocki, Vince D’Agostino, Robert Gifford, Jim Slehofer, and Mark Cozzi.

Two other Elmhurst Eagles teams made it to their respective championship games over the weekend and finished second.

The JV Silver team gave the Hinsdale Falcons all they could handle before falling 13-6 on Saturday at Willowbrook. Team members included: Demi Adeniji, Jack Birch, Brandon Brenka, Julian Ceglinski, Mike Conheady, Matthew Crader, Nate Crowell, Gavin Davis, Luke Eleniewski, Joey Ferriola, Dylan Green, Matthew Klos, Brian Kunst, Philip McLaughlin, Tyler Parisi, Stone Quarrie, Max Santiago, Will Schermer, Mike Smith, Brandon Walker and Jacob Wilson. Coaches for the team were Jeff Smith, Joe Santiago, Joey Santiago, and Jeff Crowell.

In the Senior Varsity AFC Gold final, the Eagles lost 20-0 against Hinsdale on Sunday at Benedictine University to finish the season with an 8-2-1 record. Players on the team were: Zachary Armstrong, Anron Castro, Ethan Chael, Daniel Dunn, Zane Heemsoth, Xavier James, Dominick Krepulec, Joshua Mathiasen, Ben Melion, Antonio Munoz, Kevon Robinson, Angel Sanchez, Anthony Scalzitti, Josiah Scott, Tex Stamatopoulos, Charlie Sutton, Bo Thomas, Sam Walsh and Nick Ward. The team's coaches were Steve Jones, Joe Shostak, Ron Carlini, Pete Ward, Matt Walsh, Ardell Romez and Jake Shostak.
