Davis retains U.S. Congress 7th seat with ease

U.S. Rep. Danny Davis has retained his 7th District Congressional seat in a lackluster race with Republican candidate Robert Bumpers.

Davis took the lead from the start and never looked back. He garnered 123,215 votes, with 112 out of 123 precincts reporting.

Bumpers was able to wrest 24,777 votes from Davis.

In 2010, Davis took 81.5 percent with a total of 149,846 votes against Republican Mark M. Weiman's 8,886 votes and independent candidate Clarence Desmond Clemons' 4,428 votes.
