Westmont Police Department hosts drug take back initiative Sept. 27

WESTMONT – The Westmont Police Department will participate in the National Take Back Day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 27.

Members of the police department and the Drug Enforcement Administration will be on hand at the Westmont station, 500 N. Cass Ave., assisting residents who wish to safely discard prescription drugs.

The National Take Back Initiative is run by the U.S. Department of Justice and the DEA. The program aims to provide a safe, convenient, and responsible means of disposing of prescription drugs, while also educating the general public about the potential for abuse of medications.
