HINSDALE – The Hinsdale Professional Firefighters Association will hold the fourth annual Big’s Softball Tournament on Sept. 20 in Veeck Park in order to raise money for Hinsdale’s HCS Family Services.

The event, which honors the death of Deputy Chief Mark Johnson, has raised nearly $35,000 for local charities over the last three years, according to a news release.

The softball tournament is a single game elimination featuring eight teams competing for the championship, which has been won by the Hinsdale Department of Public Works for the past three years, according to the release.

Maywood, Lisle-Woodridge, Western Springs, LaGrange Park, Westmont, Pleasantview and Hinsdale have already registered to play, the release stated.

The first pitch will be at 9 a.m.
